BART board votes to relax rush hour bike ban for five-month trial
BART's board of directors voted to lift a ban on bikes aboard rush hour trains for five months Thursday night and may make the policy change permanent. The five-month extended trial period will run from July 1 to Nov. 30.

Third graders who started letter-writing campaign escorted to school by honor guard
Five Montevideo Elementary School students carrying a special American flag were escorted on their bicycles to school by an honor guard. The soldiers aboard U.S. Army vessel M.G. Robert Smalls sent the flag to the students after twin brothers Will and Evan Calvert, 9, enlisted fellow students to write letters to the crew members.
