Board of Supervisors respond to draft Plan Bay Area concept
Contra Costa County's Board of Supervisors believe the draft Plan Bay Area is a good first step in setting regional goals to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, according to a letter addressed to the Association of Bay Area Governments and the Metropolitan Transportation Commission. Get ready for the Art & Wind Festival this weekend
The annual San Ramon Art & Wind Festival blows into town on May 26 and 27. Former Contra Costa narcotics task force head sentenced to 14 years
Former Contra Costa County drug task force commander Norman Wielsch was sentenced to 14 years in prison for his role in a police corruption case that scandalized the Bay Area. Wielsch admitted to committing a series of crimes between 2009 and 2011 that included stealing marijuana and methamphetamine seized during raids and selling the drugs. (Monday, 11:23 AM)

Unemployment rates keep dropping in Bay Area, state
The California unemployment rate fell to 9.0 percent in April, down from 9.4 percent in March and well below a year ago when it stood at 10.7 percent, according to the California Employment Development Department. (Friday, 5:15 PM)

Cyclists will race through town on Saturday, May 18 in the seventh stage of the race from Livermore to Mt. Diablo State Park. Three arrested in connection with residential burglaries

San Ramon approves $74.7 million budget
The San Ramon City Council has approved a $74.7 million budget for the upcoming fiscal year, which begins July 1. The budget is unchanged from previous versions and includes a number of reductions to compensate for a structural deficit that's slowly drawing down the city's reserves. San Ramon still has a healthy balance, with fifty cents of every dollar the city receives going into its rainy day fund. (Wednesday, 9:23 PM)
Residents walk to honor veterans
The fifth annual Walk of Honor brings together community members and veterans organizations for leisurely walk across the "Alfred Zampa Memorial Bridge" and barbeque. San Ramon man gets 15 years for distributing child pornography
A San Ramon man has been sentenced to 15 years in federal prison for distribution of child pornography. Clyde Craig, 56, pleaded guilty in January. In a plea agreement, Craig admitted he used the Internet to distribute images and videos of minors. (Tuesday, May 14, 2013, 2:36 PM)

Five face charges in shopliftings at Pleasanton's Stoneridge Shopping Center
