Victims struck 'repeatedly' with cell phone

A Christmas Eve dispute over manners apparently led to the beating of a mother and daughter by two other women at the Stoneridge Shopping Center.
The incident began when one of the victims, the daughter, heard one of the suspects cough, and told her to cover her mouth when she did so, according to a police report. That led to a brief, heated dispute.
The two victims then went into the Lane Bryant store in the 2400 block of Stoneridge Mall Road.
A few minutes later they were attacked from behind by one of the suspects, who used her cell phone to repeatedly strike both victims in the head after knocking them to the ground.
The second suspect took a pair of black Ray-Ban sunglasses valued at $200 and both fled. Neither victim was seriously injured, and both declined medical treatment.
The suspects are described as Hispanic females. The attacker is described as being in her 20s, about five feet four inches tall and about 120 pounds. The woman who stole the sunglasses is described as being in her 50s or 60s, about five feet two inches tall and 160 to 170 pounds.
The investigation into the incident is continuing. Anyone with information is asked to call Pleasanton police at 931-5100. Are you receiving Express, our free daily e-mail edition? See a sample and sign-up for Express.

Posted by Libby, a resident of San Ramon, on Dec 28, 2012 at 5:51 am This is ridiculous! I will continue to do more and more of my shopping online to avoid the lunacy and safety risks associated with Stoneridge Mall and Broadway Plaza. It is not even enjoyable to go either place any longer since I always feel like I need to look over my shoulder.

Posted by Ms. Bunny, a resident of San Ramon, on Dec 28, 2012 at 8:14 am Wow. Utterly tacky. That said, I have seen repeatedly hispanic young women fighting young women. Just unreal. Talk about low lifes...Glad the perpetrators were apprehended and will nailed with a police record. Deservedly so.

Posted by Ms. Bunny, a resident of San Ramon, on Dec 31, 2012 at 9:08 am Frankly david? I'd give my "eye teeth" for them to ban cellphones MORE...Is there anything more obnoxious than being in a public place and having these people blab away within a foot or two of you when you're shopping for one thing or another? At a play? In a theater? At the Dr's office? The worse offenders? Mothers with kids in tow! Ugh! Blah - blah - blah, excuse me?!
The courteous thing (obvious one would think) is to remove yourself from people in close proximity and THEN use your phone in a quieter if not private space. I observe that occurs maybe, 1 out of 5 times. Utterly obnoxious habit.

Kid's are encouraged to call adults by their first names. The use of please and thanks you, is all but forgotten. Hip hop culture has eeked its way into the suburbs. Parent your children well. Irony, a fight breaks out over common courtacy afforded to so few these days. GO to China and see how they live, bumping into eachother with no mind. It is coming here if we don't wake up.

Posted by Lynn, a resident of San Ramon, on Jan 7, 2013 at 10:19 am The minute BART was extended out to Pleasanton/Dublin, it brought that lovely low life element into the Tri-Valley....The stoneridge mall is not filled with riff-raff, not to mention the increase in car thefts, like smash and grabs and petty burglary crap going on....yipppeee great move to "train" in the low lifes and make our tri-valley community co-mingle with everyday thugs....Super good plan city planners.....
Thank heaven for Broadway Plaza in Walnut Creek, cause there's a tad less crime and bart arrives to far away for the average thug to walk on over...I'm so over the melting pot invasion and 5-families per household that's hitting the Tri-Valley and Particularly San Ramon area....where are these foreigners coming from and when are they returning to their mother countries.....ugghhhhhhh!

Racist much?
It was OK for your ancestors to come here but not for the current generation? Seriously?
If we want to stay ahead of the curve, we want the best and brightest from everywhere to find a home here.
