Five people were arrested in two separate burglaries in Walnut Creek over the weekend, according to reports.
Walnut Creek police arrested two burglary suspects Saturday morning after an alert citizen reported the burglary while it was in progress, according to Police Chief Joel Bryden.
The burglary on the 1800 block of Olmo Way was called in around 2:40 a.m., Bryden said.
Officers arriving on the scene detained two suspects, and discovered three vehicles and two storage sheds had been burglarized. The suspects were in possession of stolen property and burglary tools, Bryden said.
Police arrested Daniel Steven Labaron, a 26-year-old Antioch resident, and Salud Evelyn Santos Cabresa, a 32-year-old Bay Point resident.
Labaron was held on $20,000 bail on suspicion of burglary and possession of burglary tools, while Cabresa was held on $20,000 bail on suspicion of burglary, possession of burglary tools and violation of probation, Bryden said.
On Saturday evening, a police officer spotted three burglary suspects in Broadway Plaza.
Julie Keresoma, 18, Lachandra Dunn, 19, and Danina Prestley, 19, all of San Francisco, ran into Macy's (1301 Broadway Plaza) and grabbed
several items before running out and fleeing by car at about 6:25 p.m., according to police.
One officer spotted the car nearby on Mount Diablo Boulevard and made a traffic stop just before the on-ramp to state Highway 24, police said.
The officer, now with assisting officers, recovered all the stolen merchandise, police said.
All three women were arrested on suspicion of burglary, conspiracy and possession of stolen property, according to police.
They were booked into the Martinez Detention Facility where they are being held on $60,000 bail.— Bay City News Service Are you receiving Express, our free daily e-mail edition? See a sample and sign-up for Express.
