 | San Ramon Mayor Bill Clarkson will give his second State of the City speech today, this time with more than a year on the job.
Clarkson will do two speeches: one for the San Ramon Chamber of Commerce and a second one, free, tomorrow night at the Dougherty Valley/San Ramon Rotary Club at the Bridges Homeowners Association clubhouse at 9050 South Gale Road.
And as was the case last year, Clarkson may deviate from his prepared text.
"I have an outline of the points I want to make, but it is not a speech to be followed word for word," he said. "I will talk about last year's vision for the city and how the we moved to implement that vision."
That includes improved communications with San Ramon residents, a new look at progress on the long-awaited City Center and a transparent budget process, along with priorities when looking at growth and new work to engaging an increasing diverse communities and improvements to the Iron Horse Trail.
"Next, I hope to discuss our vision for the coming years in San Ramon -- Open space, the Iron Horse trail, the City Center moving forward, hopefully," Clarkson said, "building a new school in the Dougherty Valley, a balanced approach to economic development and continuing our work in communications, public safety, and prudent fiscal management of the city's finances."
Following the talk, will be a general question and answer session.
In addition, the board members for 2013 will be sworn in at the luncheon, and the chamber will pick two early bird winners from its National Treasures Educational Vacation raffle.
The Sate of the City address will run from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the - San Ramon Golf Club, 9430 Fircrest Lane. Are you receiving Express, our free daily e-mail edition? See a sample and sign-up for Express.
