A 2-hour-and-45-minute-trip from San Francisco's Transbay Terminal to Los Angeles' Union Station could be a reality by 2029, but that a host of political, financial and logistical obstacles must be hurdled before high-speed trains reach the Bay Area.

This will be the biggest waste of public money in the history of the country. If they are projecting the finish in 2029 we can safely add 10-20 years. That means two generations of high paid and high pension government jobs. I've got to start looking at what state I'm going to retire in. California is looking more problematic all the time.
