Some of the city's roadways will move a little faster by the end of this month, as speed limits officially increase on several area streets.

That is awesome!!! The faster the better. It will help people get around. Now if people could just learn to drive better. People are driving at those speeds anyway, might as well make it legal.

SERIOUSLY? 45 mph FROM SR Valley Blvd. DOWN Montevideo to Alcosta? This is such a residential area with the highschool coming off of Broadmoor AND Country Club elementary from the other side with the Iron Horse Trail crossing? Methinks this may NOT be such a good idea...

Ms. Bunny, I think you misread it. San Ramon Valley from Montevideo to Alcosta is going to 45 - not Montevideo.

SRV Blvd from Montevideo to Alcosta (the south end of SRV Blvd near Pine Valley) already is 45 mph - no change. The section of SRV Blvd from Norris Cyn Rd to Montevideo will increase from 40 mph to 45 mph. The section NORTH of Norris Cyn is in the business district with many drive ways and business entrances will remain at 35mph.

I am happy to hear that the San Ramon City Council decided to get together and raise the spped limit in area around San Ramon. But the real question is when are they going to get off their seats and work on the very dangerous traffic situation westbound on Bollinger between Camino Ramon and Southbound 680. This is a tragedy waiting to happen and yet the City puts their blinders on and allows it to continue day after day. Hey City Council and SR Police Department, why don't you stand at the Chevron entrance and watch the reckless driving that happens every afternoon.
