Rotary to the rescue: Renovations bring teen into heart of the home

The family of Chelsea Gerber, 19, has carried on through a multitude of challenges since she was diagnosed several years ago with a rare, progressive and degenerative form of epilepsy. Now San Ramon Valley Rotary has given them a special gift of a downstairs bedroom and barrier free bath for Chelsea.

It is hard enough to see an older friend or relative who has had a chance at a good and fulfilling life suffer a degenerative disease, but to see a beautiful youngster wasting away is really heartbreaking.

A very big "Thank You" to the Rotary, but this is not unusual as they are an exceptional group and contribute a great deal to our community.
