Foothill, Amador Valley high school marching bands holding free field show at 7 p.m. tonight

'It's the perfect event for Pleasanton families,' sponsor says

The Foothill and Amador Valley high school marchng bands will hold a free field show performance at 7 p.m. tonight on the Foothill High School football field.

The event is being sponsored by the Amador Friends of Music and the Foothill Band Boosters organizations.

The Marching Dons took home the Sweepstakes Award in 4A/5A competition last Saturday at Logan High School. The Dons took the top spot with a score of 86.9 and also earned the caption awards for Auxiliary, Visual and Music.

The Foothill marching band just finished hosting its successful Foothill Band Review, which is one of the largest band reviews in Northern California.

The event will bring together the music communities at both high schools, said Amador Friends of Music President Marilyn Palowich.

"It's the perfect event for Pleasanton families with younger students to come, see the bands, and be inspired," she added.

All these kids work very hard (Foothill & Amador) and have a great time working together with their fellow bandmates! They practice during classtime, nights afterschool, at home, and on weekends. They get up very early to compete in far away towns. Yes, rain or shine, they are there. Support music in your schools!
