No it's not. It's time for the school district to learn to do with less just like all the rest of us. I'm sick and tired of getting nickel and dimed by the school district.

If the schools had every dollar printed and every coin minted they still would cry for more.

NO. The SRVSD CONTINUES not to account well for monies spent...Our parcel tax voted in several years ago I believe added $90 to my tax bill. Then this past year or so? Another increase was granted through another ballot measure, I believe by some $30 or so...This is getting ridiculous - like throwing money down an endless abyss with the school district. -Whoever is "managing" the accounting for them, historically till now? NOT doing the job insofar as the citizenry of San Ramon getting an ACCURATE (-not padded) accounting of expenditures. Too much "hanky panky" going on fiscally. Will not vote for ANY parcel tax measure UNTIL these people "get it together". I put my son through SR schools and it was a problem ALMOST EVERY YEAR. I'm sorry, but something is very, very wrong with this picture and I'm not going to support another increase, ESPECIALLY now...
Academically they are good, very good. Fiscally? A travesty...they have no concept of keeping to a budget; not overspending - none whatsoever.

Will always vote down school taxes. If they need more money, have them address their out of control retirement benefits. That's the root of the problem.

It's an interesting phenomena, that because state workers, teachers, firemen, police and those select few, (many of whom are union) that have exhibited truly excessive retirement "build up" (i.e., being able to cash in on sick leave/vacation) historically) Now that the 'cat is out of the bag' so to speak and being trimmed left and right (with the exclusion of CCC out of control retirement...still) I believe there is more accountability in this area/will be further cuts. This is an historic problem in SRVUSD, truly...In my 32 years here? It's the past 20 I've personally noted larger and larger overspending and failure to account for what has been spent. I'm not talking about inflation, I'm talking about the attitude of the prevailing "open checkbook" - knowing fully well, they can cry poor when it comes to the schooling because of course, the "children come first". So I just no longer believe their sad song, how can I or others who've lived here and watched this go on for YEARS? NO. Not a chance I'll vote for ANOTHER parcel tax measure - in fact this time? I might ACTIVELY work against it if proposed.

With corporate employees being pummeled with job losses and pay decreases, tell me you are NOT serious......another parcel tax???????? Yea right, how about the school districts RETURNING some of the previous parcel tax money they so unwisely managed? Now that would be a bond measure I would support!!!!!
Guess you can tell by these responses, the voters are NOT going to be fooled anymore.

I'm not clear on whether parcel taxes permit non homeowners to contribute to supporting services they use.

IF you are a resident of San Ramon, Contra Costa County, and an apartment dweller or home renter - you're paying - probably just indirectly through your rent by the legal owner of your complex/leased home - PERIOD. You do realize these costs are passed on in the form of rent increases, right?!

No more tax increases through school bonds. Many of us who have worked for the school system have been layed off. How are we to pay for it?
